When the Berlin family from Herndon, VA saw their outdated kitchen needing repairs, they decided it was time to remodel.
“I decided to remodel after the kitchen tile floor began cracking. We needed a new floor and if we got a new floor, I wanted to replace the electric cook top on the island with gas, and if we did that I wanted more counter space next to the cook top and then I would need to put new cabinets in to change the counter, etc. It just escalated from there.” – Pam Berlin
That’s when they turned to the Cabinet Discounters store in Chantilly, VA and kitchen designer Rick Grandy.
“I went to two other well known high quality cabinet stores/design centers and did some research before hearing the Cabinet Discounters commercial on the radio. I decided, what the heck, let’s see what they have. I was pleasantly surprised to find better quality cabinets at a fraction of the price of what the other companies offered. I worked with Rick from the Chantilly office to design the kitchen best for my needs. My main objective was to have more cabinet and counter space. I got both and a beautiful kitchen!” – Pam Berlin
The Berlins chose Brighton Cabinets with a Maple White finish and Verona style doors. Door pulls and knobs accentuate the cabinets in a Rubbed Bronze finish to give the space a traditional feel. The island was laid out in order to create a more usable function and flow about the kitchen. Crown molding was used along with cabinet of varied heights to provide visual interest and sensible storage options. Lighted glass-front cabinets also bookend the range and frame the hood and tile work.
