Have you found that certain amenities in your home no longer fit your needs? Whether it’s from being outdated, falling apart, or simply no longer functional for your lifestyle, there are many aspects that can contribute to this happening. A local family was experiencing some deficiencies with their old master bathroom, and they were ready to make a change to remedy the situation.
“Our old bathroom was 35 years old and showing its age. Our old large soaking tub was difficult to clean and also sometimes challenging for my husband to get in and out of. We wanted a walk-in shower and added safety features such as grab bars and a higher toilet. Remodeling the bathroom with these features would help enable us to stay in our home longer.”
Having previously worked with Cabinet Discounters on a remodel of their powder room, the family knew exactly where to turn when they were ready to begin this project. Just like last time, they visited our showroom in Springfield, VA and met with designer Katie Kieler. They were impressed with Katie’s knowledge and helpfulness, and also very pleased with all the work that we had done, so the choice was clear who to work with this time.
“We chose Cabinet Discounters based on prior experience. In 2014 we updated our powder room, a minor project compared with our recent master bath remodel. Katie was our design consultant. We were very pleased with the entire project from start to finish. We were impressed with Katie’s design advice, the work the subs did and the quality and wide selection of finishes the company offered. We also felt that we received good value for our money, so, it was obvious to call Katie when it was time for our next project.”
As they did last time, the family had a great experience working with Katie. She was able to offer ideas while also allowing them time to make their own decisions on exactly what they wanted in their new bathroom.
“Everyone involved with the project was professional, friendly and easy to communicate with. Katie was so easy to work with, providing expert guidance in helping us select the finishes, and always patient as we considered different options. Her design included a beautiful pair of wood framed mirrors, matching the Brighton cabinets, and a deep drawer under the sink instead of a conventional cabinet. Katie was meticulous in her attention to detail. It was great receiving a work schedule prior to the start date.”
In addition to working with Katie, the family was also very happy with all the work done by everyone else on their project.
“The contractors were good in keeping to the schedule and letting us know if any changes were necessary. All the contractors did excellent work. We were particularly impressed with the beautiful tile work by Benito Perez. Communication with George Silva and Lisa was easy, calls were returned promptly and a couple minor issues addressed promptly.”
Working along with Katie, the family selected Brighton Cabinetry with Plainfield door style in Quartersawn White Oak Natural. The countertops, shower seat, and shower niche are done with Calacatta Miraggio Gold quartz. The tile is Florida Tile Allustra Majestic White with the floor and shower wall being 12 x 24″ Matte Field and the shower floor is 3 x 3″ Hex Mosaic.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with our bathroom remodel. Katie transformed our 35-year-old bathroom into a light, airy, serene and beautiful space. The finishes perfectly complement each other. The custom touches, like the mirrors, make the room special. I smile inside whenever I walk in.”
This new master bathroom now has everything the customers wanted and needed. From a modernized look, to increased storage, and the convenient walk-in shower that they had wanted, the bathroom turned out exactly how they had envisioned.
“The design of the vanity and the addition of a tall storage cabinet have added storage space and made organizing easier. My husband no longer has to worry about climbing in and out of a deep tub, the walk-in shower is a blessing.”
