For this remodel, the homeowners wanted a kitchen that would feel current and work better for their everyday needs. Tired of the way that their old kitchen functioned, they were ready to make a change. They reached out to Cabinet Discounters and worked out of our Annapolis, MD showroom with designer Mary Carrette to create a space that’s both practical and visually appealing.
The cabinets are from Brighton Cabinetry in the Cascade door style, finished in Maple Charleston. The dark green tone gives the room a fresh, updated look. The room blends the functionality of a modern kitchen with traditional flair.
To keep the space feeling open and bright, Calacatta Adonia quartz was used for the countertops. The soft veining in the quartz complements the cabinetry and adds a bit of contrast without being too bold. The large island in the center of the kitchen offers extra prep space, seating, and storage, and includes a built-in sink and microwave for added convenience.
The layout was designed with function in mind. The main cooking area is centered around the range and vent hood, with everything else—like the fridge, pantry, and small beverage area—easily accessible. The light wood floors tie the whole room together and keep it feeling warm and comfortable. In addition, another storage area was added on the wall adjacent to the kitchen, which also gives the family room to house their smaller drink fridge.
This project is a good example of how thoughtful design and quality materials can completely change how a space looks and works. The homeowners now have a kitchen that fits their style and supports their daily routines.
