Once inside our store, the family met with designer Doreen Bliss. Doreen came up with the plan and listened to the needs of the customer. However during their project, Doreen retired, and designer Dave Humerick flawlessly took over in her place. Dave finalized the project and was able to aid the family with everything they needed during the installation process as well.
“Doreen Bliss provided an initial mock-up for us – but because it was done after an inpromptu visit where we did not come armed with photos/ideas of what it was we really wanted, I met with Doreen 2-3 more times and sat along side her to design our cabinets. Doreen was very accommodating in making my requested changes (i.e., cabinets that came down to the counter with a drawer underneath, specific widths of cabinets and floating shelves, moulding choices, etc.). Dave was also instrumental in helping us finalize our stone choice, initiating the fabrication of our cabinets, delivery and assisting Tom with the installation. He also stopped by to ensure the measurements were accurate prior to ordering our cabinets for us. Both the cabinet delivery team and the stone delivery team were very careful and congenial.”
Working along with Doreen and Dave, the family selected Brighton Cabinetry with Rodera door style and Maple Zinc stain. The countertops are Via Lactea granite.
“We are very happy with the final product. We are so glad we went with the high-end, custom Brighton cabinet line. You sometimes hold your breath when making design decisions, but the color/stain choice, cabinet style and stone choice all worked so well together. We added some beautiful LED lighting to our cabinets and it really adds to the beauty of the cabinets, the crackle glass door fronts and the cabinet contents.”
With their new space, the family has been able to relax and enjoy their basement and spend quality time together.
“Since much of our furniture wasn’t delivered until the week before Christmas, we have only had the last month to really enjoy our space – but it has been great! We had our first family gathering on December 23 to celebrate both [my husband’s] birthday and have our family holiday gift exchange. We are able to watch movies, enjoy a drink and some good company in a comfortable space now and hope to do just that much more in the future!”
In the end, the family had a wonderful experience, and couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out.
