“We decided to remodel because we hadn’t updated since 2008 when we moved in. When we bought the house, it still had a standard builder grade kitchen. When we moved in, we refaced the cabinets and replaced the counters to update things a little bit but knew that someday we would want to fully remodel. The kitchen had started to show some wear and we were ready for a change, so we decided to go ahead and remodel.”
Working with a contractor who collaborated with Cabinet Discounters on a previous project, the family knew that they would be headed back to our Mount Airy, MD showroom to begin to view our wide selection of products.
“Our contractor has done a lot of work with Cabinet Discounters and we used them years ago when that same contractor built our pool house. We were very happy with how that project turned out, so we decided to work with them again for our kitchen.”
Once inside our showroom, the family sat down and met with designer Terri Reiter. Terri listened to their wants and needs and was able to come up with a plan that fit their space perfectly.
“Terri is great! She walked us through the design process and asked all the right questions to make sure we were considering all of our options and choices! Then she was available to answer all of our other questions along the way! The countertop installers were also great- our peninsula is a very large and very heavy piece and they managed to get it in without damaging it or anything else! We were very impressed!”
Working along with Terri, the family selected Brighton Cabinetry with Cascade door style. The perimeter cabinetry is Maple Hingham, and the island cabinets are Maple Custom. The countertops are Hanstone Eden quartz.
“We absolutely love our new kitchen! It is so much lighter and brighter- it just feels good to be in the room! We also love how much more efficient and convenient everything is- it makes our lives easier all around! “
With the addition of their new peninsula and breakfast nook area, the family has found that not only do they have plenty of more storage, but they also have lots of room to host friends and family in their space, without having to feel cramped.
“We have entertained several times since remodeling and the extra counter space we gained with the peninsula, as well as the extra seating there and in the breakfast nook are game changers! It has made things so much easier and now it feels like everyone is connected throughout the whole space! We love it!”
