In this week’s featured project, we showcase an incredible kitchen transformation done out of the Cabinet Discounters showroom in Mt. Airy. This kitchen not only shows off our quality products, but also shows how the adversity faced by the customers led to a gorgeous new space.
Prompted by some unfortunate circumstances, this kitchen remodel project was brought on by a refrigerator leak which led to the eventual removal of the kitchen floor.
“Our remodel journey started back in November 2022 when the icemaker connection on our new refrigerator was leaking. We didn’t notice right away because the water was settling under the kitchen tiles and leaking into the room below. By the time we noticed, the ceiling below had caved in and most of the things below were soaked. In comes the insurance people with a remediation crew that started tearing out everything to include the kitchen floor. Once the floor was gone, we started to evaluate the entire kitchen. That brought us to today with new cabinets, new countertops, backsplash and floor.”
Knowing that they now needed a new kitchen, the customers returned back to Cabinet Discounters. They had worked with us on a previous project in the past, and enjoyed their experience so much that they knew they would return.
“We chose Cabinet Discounters because they previously installed an office on the second floor for us many years ago and had received a very good experience.”
Inside our showroom, the customers met with designer Dan Ciucci, who was able to come up with a plan and offer suggestions that worked to create a more functional space. Dan also coordinated with all of the other parties associated with the project to make the project flow seamlessly.
With Dan’s guidance and assistance, the customers selected Homecrest Cabinetry with Bexley Painted Hardwood door style and Iceberg Opaque color. The countertops are Emerstone Firenze quartz.
The new kitchen now offers ample space for food preparation and storage. The customers are particularly thrilled with the lower drawers in the kitchen which make storage and access of items a breeze.
“We are very happy with our new kitchen. Our new kitchen is used mostly for cooking. One thing we did was to upgrade the cabinet lowers to drawers which makes it much easier for me to reach and store things.”
