“I originally updated my kitchen 25 years ago, but over time I realized there were several things I’d do differently. As someone who cooks a lot, I wanted a proper hood and chef’s stove (and fewer fire alarm moments). The layout also wasn’t very functional—key items like spices, utensils, and dishes weren’t where I needed them, and there was wasted corner space. I also wanted to replace the split-level counter with a single surface and bring the kitchen in line with the updated look and feel of the rest of our home.”
Having previously worked with Cabinet Discounters on their past kitchen remodel, the family knew exactly where to turn for this project. They once again returned to our Gaithersburg, MD showroom to get started.

Working along with Shawn, the family selected Brighton Cabinetry with Luna door style in Maple Custom. The countertops are Macaubas Fantasy quartzite.
“I love my new kitchen!!! While we normally do entertain quite a bit, I have honestly just been enjoying cooking in my new kitchen day to day — it’s so nice to have the improved functionality that comes with so many of the decisions we made.”
