An outdated or poorly functioning kitchen can impact how a home is used every day. Worn finishes, limited storage, or inefficient layouts often make the space harder to live in than it needs to be. Updating the kitchen allows homeowners to address these issues directly, improving both functionality and comfort while creating a space that better fits how the home is actually used.
This kitchen renovation was designed out of the Cabinet Discounters showroom in Annapolis, MD and centers on a cabinetry plan that balances classic styling with subtle contrast. Our designer, Meg O’Neill, worked with the homeowner to select finishes and layouts that would feel cohesive throughout the space while still allowing individual elements to stand on their own. Cabinet Discounters provided only the cabinetry for this project.
The kitchen features Brighton Cabinetry in Heartland Raised door style. The majority of the cabinetry is in a custom blue color, accompanied by Maple Cashmere to add a splash of warm color with the hood and pantry on the opposite wall.
A large peninsula serves as a central feature of the kitchen, providing additional prep space while also acting as a natural transition between rooms. The raised panel detailing and furniture-style construction give the peninsula a built-in feel that complements the traditional architecture of the home.
One of the more refined details in the space is the panel-ready refrigerator, fully integrated into the surrounding pantry cabinetry. Matching the appliance panels to the Maple Cashmere finish allows the refrigerator to blend seamlessly into the design, contributing to the clean, uninterrupted look of the kitchen.
This project is a strong example of how cabinetry selections and color coordination can shape the overall feel of a kitchen. By combining Brighton Cabinetry with custom color choices and careful planning, the result is a space that feels unique, personal, comfortable, and stylish.
