When the owners of this home began planning their kitchen renovation, they knew they wanted a space that was better suited to their daily routine and offered more storage without compromising style. Working with designer Meg O’Neill out of the Cabinet Discounters showroom in Annapolis, MD, they were able to achieve just that. The result is a clean, comfortable kitchen that blends functional design with attention to detail.
At the center of the kitchen is a large island that provides additional workspace and seating. The cabinetry, which was the only kitchen aspect supplied by Cabinet Discounters, is from Brighton Cabinetry with the Bryant door style in Maple Lace. This classic style helps tie the whole kitchen together with a consistent and balanced look. Subtle panel detailing, paired with simple hardware, flows well with the home’s traditional character without being too ornate.
Throughout the perimeter, the cabinetry integrates seamlessly with the appliances and supports efficient workflow. The glass-front wall cabinets near the window help open up the room visually and offer display space for dishes and glassware. On the opposite wall, a built-in pantry area creates ample storage while maintaining the kitchen’s unified aesthetic. In this section, the wood countertops made from Cherry with a Russet stain provide a warm contrast to the lighter tones used elsewhere.
Working along with Meg, our role was central in shaping the layout and utility of the space. With careful planning and a close collaboration between the designer and homeowner, the finished kitchen is one that will serve the family well for years to come.
