After over two decades, the kitchen in the Heaps’ Eldersburg home was ready for an update! The years of cooking and entertaining had begun to show through and the desire for a more functional space prompted the Heaps to visit the Columbia Cabinet Discounters showroom for inspiration and design for a new kitchen.
Working with kitchen designer Damaris Gonzalez, they created a new space for cooking, baking and entertaining both family and friends. White custom cabinets by Brighton in Saxony with 5pc flat drawer fronts, soft neutral toned counters with an Ogee edge profile and Pastorelli backsplash tile offer the open feel they were looking for. Their new kitchen also “checked all the boxes” when it came to function and efficiency!
Details in the cabinetry and classic hardware add architectural flair to the “canvas” that a white kitchen provides for changing seasonal decor and trends.
Cabinet Discounters: Why did you choose Cabinet Discounters?
The Heaps Family: We had just had our master bath remodeled by another outfit, whose work left much to be desired. A couple of my neighbors worked with Cabinet Discounters to remodel their kitchens, and highly recommended you.
Cabinet Discounters: What you made you decide to remodel your kitchen?
The Heaps Family: After 27 years, the cabinets and counter top were really showing their age. Also, I like to cook, and I wanted a more efficient layout, as well as more storage and counter space.
Cabinet Discounters: Can you describe your experience working with Cabinet Discounters designers and installers?
The Heaps Family: The experience with Cabinet Discounters compared to the [other place] was like night and day. Everyone was very helpful, knowledgeable, and dependable. The plans and schedule were clearly laid out–and followed. Our designer, Damaris, had some nice design ideas, and was very accommodating with our busy schedules. Our installers were fast, clean, and courteous–and good with the dog, too! Most importantly, the workmanship was top-notch.
Cabinet Discounters: How satisfied are you with the outcome?
The Heaps Family: I am delighted with my new kitchen! I finally have room for all my stuff, and enough counter space for big family dinners and Christmas baking. The little daily annoyances, such as my clothes catching on the drawer handles, or the wine stains on the Formica counter, are all gone. Plus, it’s beautiful!
Cabinet Discounters: How do you plan on using your new space?
The Heaps Family: Next month is the big “reveal” for the neighbor ladies, because I plan to host a wine tasting. But the most important thing to me is the added utility and beauty of the space, which I get to enjoy every day.
