A New Addition For First Floor Living

Working in tandem with their general contractor, Todd Tomlinson, Cabinet Discounters was part of a home makeover for the Wallaces of Rockville. Hans Englehart, a designer in our Gaithersburg, MD showroom, helped this couple choose custom cabinetry for a new kitchen, laundry and master bath that would enable them to “age in place” and continue to enjoy their beautiful home and community.

Hans also worked closely with architect Jim Gerrety to create the perfect layout to complement the new construction and meet the needs and desires of the Wallaces. Each room blends clean lines and a natural palette to create a warm and inviting space that is highly functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The Kitchen

WallaceKitchen16The kitchen incorporates many architectural touches, including a window seat and exposed pot storage. Maple Brighton Cabinets in a Maple natural finish were chosen for their simplicity and warmth. They are set off by Ocre granite counter tops which blend with the tile and stainless steel appliances.

WallaceKitchen15Crown molding, modern fixtures and book cases add interest and personality to the new space. Glass doors are also used to showcase glassware and china for easy access.

We cook every day and entertain regularly so it is a joy to use the kitchen. The Wallaces

For this room HomeCrest cabinets were chosen in a Tuscany Maple finish.

Master Bath

The new master bathroom incorporates all the bells and whistles of a “spa bath” with a relaxing color palette, warm lighting and modern amenities.

The Wallaces have created a comfortable new first floor addition that will adapt to their changing needs.

We are thrilled with the addition – the construction and installation went smoothly and Hans came out to make sure everything was installed correctly. The Wallaces
