Our featured project for this week comes to us from the Cabinet Discounters showroom in Springfield, VA. The customers found that their old kitchen, which was over 20 years old, simply no longer functioned properly with how it was laid out, and they wanted a more updated space.
“Our house was built in 2005 and the kitchen was very dated and inefficient. The double oven was mounted in a corner for some reason, resulting in unusable, inaccessible space. The cooktop was mounted on an island which was too small to be useful, and no downdraft was installed.”
The customers had previously worked with Cabinet Discounters several decades back on a kitchen remodel in a previous home, and they knew exactly where they were going to turn when this project arose.
“We had been happy with the company’s work when they remodeled the kitchen in a one of our previous homes in the late 1980’s.”
Once inside our showroom, they met with designer Kevin Yarbough. They told Kevin what they wanted and needed in a new kitchen, and Kevin was able to draw up a plan that worked within their space and budget, while maximizing the potential of this space. They were very happy with their experience working with Kevin, as well as their experience with everyone else from the Cabinet Discounters team who were involved with their project.

Working along with Kevin, the family selected Brighton Cabinetry with Bryant doors in Maple Misty. The countertops are Vicostone Misterio quartz. This job was installed by Cabinet Discounters.
“We are very pleased with the outcome and do not feel like we will need to make any changes or upgrades in the foreseeable future. Food preparation is much easier with the increased counter space and new appliances.”
