We are here to answer all your questions about installation, materials, durability, and style. Please read through our kitchen countertop faqs and let us know if you have further questions or concerns.

Will you need to install my cabinets before template?

Yes, typically we always install the cabinets before the templating process for countertops. The templating process involves creating a precise template or pattern of your kitchen layout. This is what we use to fabricate the countertop. Installing your cabinets first ensures that the templating accurately reflects the exact dimensions and layout of your cabinetry.

Does Cabinet Discounters remove existing countertops?

Yes, we will remove and dispose of existing tops for an additional cost. Our skilled team will carefully remove your old countertops to make way for the installation of your new countertop. This approach guarantees a smooth and efficient upgrade while maintaining the integrity of your kitchen space.

How long will it take you to perform the template?

The duration of your template will depend on the complexity and size of your project. Typically, a standard kitchen template takes around 1 or less. Larger projects may take up to 2 hours. This will lay the foundation for a successful countertop installation.

How long does it take to install new countertops?

The installation timeframe for new countertops will vary. It depends on the type and size of countertop you are getting. It also depends on the complexity of your project and kitchen size. On average, an easy installation will take 1 to 3 hours.

If it will take longer or if we need additional time, we will work with your schedule. Our professionals prioritize precision to ensure the highest quality standards.

Does Cabinet Discounters use subcontractors?

Our own employees preform all the work and we guarantee all our work. We promise to deliver a beautifully finished kitchen within a reasonable time frame.

Do I need to clear off my countertops for template?

Yes, for an accurate template, you must clear off your countertops. Removing items gives us unobstructed access. Our team can precisely measure and template the space. This ensures an accurate representation of your layout so we can easily install your new countertops.

Can you measure for my new countertops with the existing tops in place?

For precise measurements, we prefer to measure for new countertops once you remove the old ones. This is the best way to guarantee accurate measurements. Also, you should all of your walls, surfaces, and appliances as well. One simple thing can shift your entire countertop measurement.

However, if you are not changing cabinets or remodeling, then we can measure with the existing countertops in place.

Do you need to install my farm sink before you template for my new countertops?

Yes, you must have your farm sink in place before templating for new countertops. This ensures precise measurements and accurate layout considerations. Installing the sink beforehand allows for a seamless placement with the countertop.

Do I need to seal my granite countertops?

Yes, you must seal granite countertops regularly. Sealing helps protect against stains, bacteria, and moisture. This will help maintain the stone’s beauty and durability. Regular sealing enhances the longevity and performance of granite countertops.

The frequency of sealing depends on usage and the type of sealant you use. We typically recommend doing it about once or two times a year.

Do I need to seal my quartz countertops?

No, quartz countertops do not require sealing. Unlike natural stones such as granite, quartz is engineered and non-porous. This makes it resistant to stains and bacteria. Quartz countertops are low-maintenance and do not need regular sealing to maintain their appearance and durability.
