It may be time for your kitchen remodel, and you may not even know it. There’s not always necessarily an obvious sign that it’s time to start on your project. You may have one smaller aspect that you’d like to change in your kitchen without thinking that it will contribute to a larger project. But as things change an you realize everything that needs to be moved and altered, a full kitchen remodel may become reality. A local family found themselves in a similar position. Their entire project when they simply wanted to get a bigger refrigerator, and progressed from there.
“We decided to remodel because during our home bound experience in the pandemic we found our refrigerator too small. I want to keep healthy ready prepared snacks in the refrigerator for the kids to snack on instead of the junk food they kept reaching for. There was just not enough room to keep the needed groceries cold while also storing prepped snacks that were ready to go. When we looked at remodeling the area the refrigerator was in, it impacted other built in areas of the kitchen that would need to be moved or adjusted. So that lead us to meet with our contractor and set up a plan for a major remodel.”
After meeting with their contractor John Phillips of Phillips Home Improvements in Davidsonville, the family began to devise a plan on how to move forward. He presented them with several options on how to move forward, and one of those options was to visit Cabinet Discounters in Annapolis and meet with designer Joe Inscoe.
“When meeting with the contractor, he suggested we could go two ways in creating a new layout for our kitchen. The first was to go to an interior designer which was going to be a bit more costly, or go see his Friend Joe at Cabinet Discounters. He said that Cabinet Discounters would be where he would go with our kitchen. Originally we thought, before meeting with the contractor, that we would have ended up with an interior designer because we had no idea what we were doing. However on our contractors advice we met with Joe.”
When the customers met with Joe in Annapolis, they were amazed at what he was able to come up with for their space. He envisioned an entirely different kitchen from the one that they currently had, and was able to incorporate all of the necessary elements that would make their kitchen larger and more functional.
“He came out to the house, took measurements and really listened to the things that were important for us to include in our new kitchen. Soon he had created an amazing new plan that we would never had really thought of because of the brick wall in the kitchen. Throughout our meetings with Joe, he walked us through all our options and made suggestions based on his understanding of our vision. We couldn’t be more thrilled with how it turned out.”
Working along with Joe, the family selected Brighton Cabinetry with Thompson door style in their kitchen. The upper perimeter cabinetry is Maple Hingham color and the lower perimeter cabinets and also the island are a custom pewter color on Maple. The countertops throughout the kitchen are LG Viatera Minuet quartz.
“I think that one of the best parts of this whole experience, has been that my team of contractors and subcontractors along with Cabinet Discounters worked in tandem to make this kitchen come to life off of the CAD design Joe delivered to us. While we may have picked the color, the tile, appliances and hardware, it wouldn’t have been the same without a great designed plan and contractors who could work with Cabinet Discounters to make it happen.”
“Now that we have our dream kitchen we are hoping to start entertaining more and more as we all begin to find some relief from the pandemic. I can create those health snacks for the kids and in general feel like we are living a healthier life in our new brighter and bigger space.”
