Do you enjoy spending time in your kitchen? Whether it’s anything from cooking to entertaining family or friends, there can be many hours spent in your kitchen. And making sure that your kitchen not only is functional for these events, but that it also matches your personal style can be one of the most important aspects of your home’s identity. A local family found themselves in a position where the existing kitchen in their home just was not fitting in with their style, and they knew it was time to do something about it.
“When we purchased our home in 2016 we immediately knew we wanted to eventually update our kitchen. We love to cook and entertain and the style of the kitchen just wasn’t for us. We also loved the windows and light in our kitchen area that had the potential to let in. The wall between the kitchen and kitchenette was a support wall and we knew needed help to really change the layout of our kitchen.”
Using the recommendation of a friend, the family decided to work with Talon Construction as their contractor for this project. Like they have with so many other remodel projects in the past, Talon advised the customers to visit the Cabinet Discounters showroom in Mt. Airy.
“We had been visiting with friends and they just had their basement redone. They spoke highly of their contractors, Talon Construction. Talon introduced us to Cabinet Discounters.”
Specifically, Talon instructed the family to meet with designer Bill Putiri. They were extremely happy with the design and suggestions provided by Bill. He was able to sit down with them and come up with a plan that worked perfectly in their space.
“We worked with Bill at Cabinet Discounters. He immediately helped us hone in on what we were looking for. He used the space and designed the kitchen in a way that we didn’t lose any space or storage, in fact we gained it with his design even though we were losing a wall of cabinets. He helped us select cabinets and countertops that were aesthetic and timeless. He even helped me find our “impossible to find” panel ready dishwasher!”
Working along with Bill, the family selected both Brighton Cabinetry and Homecrest Cabinetry for their kitchen. The perimeter cabinetry is Brighton with Bryant door style and Maple Tranquil color. The island cabinets are from Homecrest with Waldron Maple door style and Galaxy Opaque color. The countertops are Viatera Minuet quartz.
“We love it! We can’t believe this is our new kitchen.”
With their new kitchen, the customers are now finding life is much easier. There is plenty of room to expand and enjoy cooking, and soon again spending time with friends and family.
“We have been using the kitchen, new appliances and really enjoying the light and space. As the world returns to some sense of normalcy, we hope to entertain even more as the space permits large gatherings and space for people to enjoy the kitchen. New appliances are a definite upgrade! We have tons of countertop space to spread out and enjoy cooking in our new, expansive kitchen.”
