“We purchased the home with the knowledge it would need updating in most major areas, and since I recently retired, and Don was already retired, and with the COVID limitations, we had plenty of time on our hands to start the renovations earlier than expected. Then there is always the goal of adding value to the house when we are ready to downsize in a few years.”
Among things that needed to be done in their home was a complete overhaul of the main level. From flooring to the dining room and bathrooms, it all needed to be changed. After starting on this big project, it came time for the kitchen to get its makeover.
“We started small mainly with painting and decorating, then moved on to the more ambitious projects. Our master plan included updating the flooring through-out most of the lower level, completely renovating the kitchen and updating the 1/2 bath and dining room downstairs, then moving upstairs to the guest and master bath, and finally replacing the carpet on the stairs with reclaimed oak flooring from the master bath renovation. We are nearly there now working on the master bath.”
After having done some research on numerous companies to hire to help with their kitchen, the customers decided on Cabinet Discounters. They were interested in supporting a local business in the midst of the pandemic, and so they visited our showroom in Annapolis. Once inside, they met with designer Victoria Jordan to devise a plan that would work in their space. After meeting with Victoria, the customers were comfortable with not only the products we had to offer, but also with the protocols we have in place to protect both our employees and customers during the pandemic.
“We did quite a bit of research on design and cabinets for the kitchen, and after reading the reviews and wanting support from and to give support to regional company during COVID, we decided to go with Cabinet Discounters. Of course, after meeting with Victoria for our initial face to face meeting, we were instantly impressed not only with the COVID protocols they were following for everyone’s safety, but the overall quality of the service and products.”
Victoria’s knowledge and expertise when it comes to kitchen design has been at the forefront of their minds, and is part of the reason why they’ve returned to our showroom to work on their master bathroom as well. And in addition to Victoria, the customers have also been very happy with all other interactions with everyone involved with our company.
“Working with Victoria is fantastic as we continue to collaborate on the master bath suite! We really appreciate her gentle manner, flexibility, professionalism, and knowledge guiding us through each step of the project. We did most of the installation ourselves, but all other interactions with the CDI delivery staff were very professional and safe which we greatly appreciate.”
Working along with Victoria, the customers selected Homecrest Cabinetry with Sedona Maple door style for their kitchen. The upper cabinetry is done in Willow Opaque and the lower cabinetry and area surrounding the refrigerator are Cadet Opaque.
“We are extremely satisfied and so happy with the quality of the cabinets and hardware, and very proud of all the work we accomplished to date in the house, but especially in the kitchen. This was a major renovation including wall and ceiling removal and are really pleased with our new open concept kitchen/family room. I think the pictures speak for themselves how unique and sophisticated, yet practical and functional the space now is.”
With the ongoing pandemic, large gatherings of family and friends have been put on hold. But, the customers have still been able to enjoy their new kitchen by themselves, and are lookin forward to the time when others can enjoy it as well.
“Of course, COVID is still impacting our ability to gather, but we already had some limited gatherings with immediate family, and we are mainly just enjoying our new kitchen to ourselves, but plan on entertaining friends and family once COVID is no longer an issue.”
In the end, the customers are overjoyed with their new kitchen. They remain impressed with the continued attention they receive from their designer with their ongoing bathroom remodel, and are extremely pleased with the products and service that we offer.
