Washington D.C. Kitchen Makeover Breathes New Life Into An Older Home

Remodeling a kitchen can often present challenges, but this can be especially true when the home is older and the kitchen area contains lead paint beneath the surface. Fortunately the staff of Cabinet Discounters understands the associated risks and has a safety protocol in place to enable a successful transition from old to new!

Steve Fair, a kitchen designer in the Columbia Cabinet Discounters showroom, helped a recent client remodel the kitchen in her Washington, D.C. home. The project was designed to provide a warm, inviting and efficient kitchen that would both improve house value and maximize entertaining space. Successful on both fronts, the end result is a testament to how good design can transform a small space and make it feel big.

The client was pleased with the quality of the products selected and the entire installation process, working with Steve to accommodate the Washington, D.C. permit and inspection process:

My overall experience with the project team was positive. They were pleasant, attentive and competent. They accommodated my requests for changes. They listened when I had questions or concerns, and addressed them. My sales person was very helpful; giving me great ideas on the design, backsplash, fixtures, etc. While the project wasn’t perfect, there was nothing that we were not able to overcome. I am very pleased with the outcome. My kitchen is everything that I expected and wanted.

Homecrest Cherry cabinets with Cinnamon finish and Madison Cherry doors beautifully offset the stainless steel appliances and new Typhoon Bourdeaux granite counters, creating a classic look that can coordinate with many decorating styles and withstand the test of time.

Mediterranea Honed Marmol 6”x6” tiles in Cafe were mounted diagonally to create the custom backsplash, which is accented throughout with stone and pewter tiles by Lunada Bay.
