Updated Entertainment Center For New Technology

With the ever-changing state of new technology, it can be hard to keep the rest of your home up to date. That’s the issue a family in Middletown, MD faced when their entertainment center was built for storage and TV displays which are no longer functional.

A large portion of the old built-ins was taken up by a gas fireplace that we never used, and another large portion was taken up by custom drawers for antiquated AV equipment (VHS tapes, DVDs, etc.). We wanted built-ins that would essentially turn the room into a library, with a limited space set aside for TV and Sonos.” – customer

Working with their own contractor, the family was referred to the Cabinet Discounters Mt. Airy showroom and designer Bill Putiri. After meeting with Bill, they knew they didn’t need to look anywhere else for cabinets and shelves.

“We chose Cabinet Discounters because the company was recommended by our contractor. He introduced us to Bill Putiri, we had Bill out to the house, and we didn’t feel the need to look any further!” – customer

Throughout the entire process, the customers couldn’t have been happier with the work done by all of the Cabinet Discounters team.

He spent a good while with us, asking questions, discussing our options, and listening to our ideas. We then sent him images of some built-ins we had seen online, to give him an idea of what we liked and why. He then got back to us quite quickly with a design we loved. He worked with us on color and style, and was very clear about timing. The cabinetry was ready ahead of schedule, which was great. During the install, Bill came out to check on our contractor’s progress and to answer questions about the installation.” – customer

With Bill’s assistance, the family selected Brighton Cabinetry with Monroe flat doors and Maple Tranquil paint. The custom cabinetry gave the customers flexibility to have the built-in bookshelves that they had hoped for, and also gave them more functional storage space beneath. In addition, the TV storage space can be closed off with doors which fold back into the shelving.

This is the most-used room in our house. We sit in it as a family, and we entertain in it when we have people over. It is a pleasure to be surrounded by our books again. We are absolutely delighted with our new bookcases.” – customer
