“There is more room for everything and more counter space to work on”
Is your kitchen too old or outdated? Do you find yourself dreading everyday tasks in your kitchen simply because there’s not enough room, or certain aspects are failing? If you can relate to any of this, then it may be time to consider a kitchen remodel. A local family was experiencing similar issues in their home, and knew it was time to do something about it.
“My kitchen was 50 years old and very dated looking. It was also in need of repair, the cabinets were starting to come loose from the wall.”
Luckily for the family, they knew one of our designers in our Cabinet Discounters showroom in Olney, and did not hesitate to contact her once they were ready to embark on their remodeling project.
“I knew someone that worked there and she assured me of the best work and the best price. She also has my same model of home and had lots of ideas on how to remodel it.”
The family met with their friend and our designer, Doreen Bliss. Doreen was able to come up with a plan that worked within the space, and make suggestions about how to best utilize the room.
“Doreen was great, she had lots of ideas and provided me with many choices. Her design was grander than I had imagined, but I am glad I took the leap because I am very happy with the outcome. I really appreciated being walked through the process. Doreen recommended paint colors, flooring types and colors, appliance types and reputable dealers, lighting choices and more. She made sure I factored in every decision into my budget and kept me on track.”
In addition to their experience working with Doreen, the family also had wonderful interactions with all of our team from installers to delivery.
“All of the installers were friendly and super qualified. My carpenter, electrician and plumber were all superb. They were obviously very experienced, and cleaned up each day so I wasn’t left with a huge mess. The tile installer (backsplash) was very meticulous, it turned out so well. And the counters look amazing. Everyone did a great job. Delivery guys were great too. They were on time and very careful bringing the boxes inside. From start to finish, I was kept informed of what was going to happen and when. And everyone was so friendly. I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out.”
Working along with Doreen, the family selected Homecrest Cabinetry. The perimeter cabinetry has Waldron Hickory door style and Anchor finish. The island has Waldron Maple doors and Cadet Opaque color. The countertops are Q Quartz Gray Lagoon. The backsplash tile is Lungarno Gypsea Glass mosaic 1″ x 4″.
“[We are] extremely pleased. So far, I’ve mostly been enjoying it with family. Had one girls’ night!”
With their new kitchen, the family is finding that every day life has been made much easier.
“Yes, because I now have a pantry, so I can put food away. There is more room for everything and more counter space to work on. Going through the process of a tear down and remodel also gave me the opportunity to evaluate and purge unused items, which I had avoided doing for years.”
