The Waldman family of Bethesda turned once again to the kitchen design talents of Mike Bliss in the Cabinet Discounters Gaithersburg showroom when they were ready to remodel an older, inefficient kitchen in their Bethesda home. A busy family of five, they challenged Mike with helping them design a fresh, new space that would offer more counter surface for preparing food and a natural flow between adjoining rooms.
The end result is a classic white kitchen with ample counter top surface that will enable the Waldmans to enjoy each other’s company while cooking, baking and entertaining in the new kitchen.
Brighton maple cabinets were chosen for the project in custom white paint and the Wabash door style. Mike worked with the Waldmans to incorporate custom features such as display shelving, crown molding and ample storage for their older home’s kitchen.
Cabinet Discounters: Why did you choose Cabinet Discounters?
The Waldmans:We had redone our kitchen in our old house about 13 years ago and a friend had recommended Mike Bliss at Cabinet Discounters. We had a great experience working with Mike so when we decided to redo our kitchen in our current house, we called Mike. Fortunately, he still worked there!
Cabinet Discounters:What made you decide to remodel your kitchen?
The Waldmans:We had lived in our house for about 7 years when we decided to redo the kitchen. It wasn’t a very efficient kitchen, with very little useable counter space. We have a family of 5 and so I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. It wasn’t a nice space in which to cook. It also had been redone poorly so it needed some serious work.
Cabinet Discounters:Can you describe your experience working with Cabinet Discounters?
The Waldmans:It was great working with Mike. He has a lot of experience and knows exactly what he was doing.
Cabinet Discounters:How satisfied are you with the outcome?
The Waldmans:I love my new kitchen!
Cabinet Discounters:How have you been using your new space?
The Waldmans:We have been cooking all the time – some entertaining. I love to bake and now I have plenty of room to do it.
