“It Is Still Hard to Believe That This Is our Home”
Living in an older home, the Palen family found it increasingly difficult to live and socialize in their outdated kitchen. The space was much too small, and they were in desperate need of an upgrade.
“Our kitchen was a narrow 1960’s design that wasn’t conducive to socializing and had very limited storage. We wanted a design that felt open and welcoming and brought the kitchen into the rest of the house.” – Mr. Palen
While doing some research on kitchen remodelers in the area, the family came across Cabinet Discounters. Because of their proximity to the store, they chose to work with our Springfield showroom, and met with designer Katie Kieler.
“After looking at a number of suppliers we decided to proceed with Cabinet Discounters for a number of reasons. The pricing and promotions were the best that we found. The selection and choices provided us a broad selection. Most of all, we received excellent service from our representative Katie. She took her time to listen to what we wanted, make thoughtful recommendations, and incorporate design elements that we specifically requested. We couldn’t be happier with the finished project.” – Mr. Palen
The Palens were very happy with their experience working with their designer.
“Katie was terrific and we have recommended her to a number of friends. She helped guide us through the cabinetry process at a pace that we felt comfortable with. Our planning process took over a month and she was attentive and professional throughout the process. Additionally, her experience allowed her to make recommendations that improved the design and saved us money.” – Mr. Palen
Working with Katie, the Palens selected HomeCrest Cabinetry with Madison maple doors. The perimeter cabinets have a French Vanilla Opaque finish, and the island has a Bison finish. The countertops are LG Viatera Minuet quartz.
“We are thrilled with the outcome. It is still hard to believe that this is our home. All of our neighbors, friends, and family were also stunned with the transformation. We are cooking significantly more in the new kitchen, both for ourselves and guests. The kitchen has become its own space for entertaining and socializing, especially with the long island and bar seating.” – Mr. Palen
