“Increased storage space lets us have less clutter in the kitchen”
Do you find yourself struggling with your kitchen on an everyday basis? Are you finding normal tasks to be difficult simply because your kitchen is too old and falling apart? If you can relate to any of that, then it may be time to consider remodeling your kitchen. A local family found themselves in a similar spot and knew that they had to do something about it.
“The kitchen had been previously re-done before we moved in (we guess in 1993) so the cabinets were old and falling apart; the floor tiles were old and dingy, we also wanted better (and more) storage space.”
Acting on the recommendation of a friend, the family decided they would visit the Cabinet Discounters showroom in Springfield.
“Good recommendation from a friend who had used Cabinet Discounters and gave a good review; ease of setting up an appointment; convenient location of the showroom.”
Once inside our showroom, the family met with designer Tessa Kolmus. They were very happy with all of their interactions with Tessa and were very happy with how easily everything went.
“We were impressed with Tessa – easy to work with and experienced, willing to go through several iterations of design with us and honesty about the good and bad aspect design decisions.”
In addition to their experience with Tessa, the family was also very happy with the work done by everyone else on their project.
“The installers showed up on time, were professional, didn’t leave a mess, and even let me borrow some of the tools so I could paint the kitchen while the work was in progress – also they didn’t damage other parts of the house. Delivery folks arrived on schedule; covered our floor before leaving boxes on the floor, and they delivered everything before the project started so we didn’t have to wait – the couple of items that were wrong were taken care of promptly and without issue. We enjoyed working with the carpenter Andrew – he was pleasant to be around and did his work in meticulous detail; stuff was done correctly the first time and didn’t have to have things re-done. Everyone we dealt with was personable and friendly.”
Working along with Tessa, the family selected Brighton Cabinetry with Highland Raised door style and Maple Harvest stain. The perimeter countertops are Cambria Fairbourne quartz. The island top is Natural Maple butcher block.
“Very happy with the outcome; have recommended Cabinet Discounters to several of our friends.”
Due to the pandemic, the family has not done a whole lot of entertaining, but they are certainly enjoying cooking for themselves in their new kitchen. Additionally, they have also found how easy life is in their new space.
“We have not done much entertaining due to covid, but we do use it every day for cooking. Easier to clean up the countertops, increased storage space lets us have less clutter in the kitchen, having doors on both sides of the island makes it easier to get at the stuff stored there, customized arrangement of the cabinets makes it more efficient – easier to access what we need to get at.”
