From Falling Apart to Falling In Love: A Gorgeous Master Bathroom Remodel

Having remodeled their kitchen with Cabinet Discounters years ago, the Byrnes family of Glenn Dale, MD was in need of help with their master bathroom that was falling apart.

DSC_3041-edit“The master bathroom subway tiles were cracked and coming loose. The shower door needed replacing as well as the nasty, builder-grade, non-functional medicine cabinet. Last straw, no one had used the bathtub in at least 8 years because it was too hard to get into.” – The Byrnes family

Not only was their bathroom old and outdated, but there were parts that were not even used due to lack of functionality. So, they returned to the Cabinet Discounters Annapolis showroom and designer Joe Inscoe for assistance.

DSC_3045-editWith Joe’s help, the Byrnes family chose HomeCrest maple cabinets with a Sedona door style and French Vanilla Opaque finish for the vanity, and those are topped with a Praa Sands quartz counter top by Cambria. The porcelain wall tile is by Mediterranea in 6×24″ size and style of Myrtle Beach and is accented by Bellavita Cascades glass Ocean Spray tiles. The floor of the shower is adorned with Bati Orient Crystal Green stone tiles and the bathroom floor is Vallelunga Tabula 6×36″ ceramic tile in the color Moka. All of these materials combine together for an amazing, spa-like atmosphere. The Byrnes family could not be happier with how everything turned out.

DSC_3064-edit“We are very happy with our new bathroom. The storage is fabulous and everything has a place. We can even use the bathtub for its purpose instead of a storage bin. It’s great. Cabinet Discounters continues to be very reliable. Joe Inscoe is a very accommodating designer, he adjusted his design at least 10 times, mostly over the internet using our back-of-envelope drawings. We wanted the shower door at an angle – no problem. I wanted 4 different tiles – no problem. He suggested the quartz counter over my original pick showing me that I could save money and it would match the 4 tiles that I picked. All of the workers who showed up came on time and were very professional. We appreciated that we could leave George at the Cabinet Discounters office any kind of message and he would get back to us – calling all of our phone numbers until he reached us. The plumbers were great and came back several times. I even had Benito come back to change the grout on the tile because it didn’t look right. DSC_3056-edit“Joe Inscoe warned me that remodeling the master bath was a major undertaking and would take up to 40 days.  Our kitchen was remodeled in 2 weeks!  So I was surprised but I really wanted the bathroom redone.  Joe explained all of the steps to us and it was a labor intensive effort that required all the time allocated.  Everyone showed up exactly as laid out in the plan.  I don’t think any other company could have done this job better.  Like other consumers, my husband and I walked through lots of Lowes, tile places, Fergusson, Thos Somerville, so we knew that the material we were ordering was not cheap.  Armed with these facts, I think that we got great value from Cabinet Discounters.” – The Byrnes family
