“One day we decided to go in and see what the process would be, if we decided to change out the cabinets in our kitchen. We were impressed with the sample kitchens and, a few months later, after thinking of moving to a new home, decided we would instead like to stay in our existing home and redo the kitchen. We met with Lorraine and began the process.”
Working with Columbia showroom designer Lorraine Aldridge-Ey, they were able to create and install a beautiful and functional new space that blends seamlessly with adjoining rooms. The new kitchen is able to transform their home with mixed wood tones and accents such as glass cabinetry.
“The finished kitchen is much more functional even though we kept the original footprint. Everyone who has seen it, comments on how much larger and “airy” it seems. We get so much use out of the center island now. The furniture-finishing of the Brighton cabinets has made the open kitchen/breakfast area, blend seamlessly into our great-room. So far, everyone has told us they wish they had our kitchen.
We’re pleased with our new kitchen and proud to entertain in it.”
All involved were pleased with the final outcome, including Lorraine: “I loved working with this customer. The existing kitchen was a basic builder kitchen and it did not suit their eclectic artistic side. We explored the material choices and decided on Brighton Cabinetry. The island is Hickory Silhouette, a distressed finish, and an LG Minuet quartz top and the perimeter is Painted Maple with a natural soap stone top. Our counter top shop fabricated a soapstone farm sink for these customers which is one of the central features of the kitchen. Their diamond shaped tile back splash works beautifully with the rest of the materials.”
