A local customer had begun to think about remodeling his kitchen, which was old and was showing its age. During the search for new cabinets, he came across the Cabinet Discounters website and started using our Kitchen Planning Guide.
“I have lived in my house 22 years with the same bad kitchen cabinets. It was time to get new cabinets and appliances too. I chose Cabinet Discounters for a few reasons. The Kitchen Planning Guide on your website got me starting with my rough sketch of the space. Without the guide it would have been a much slower start for me.” – Mr. Wyrick
Upon completing the Kitchen Planning Guide, Mr. Wyrick visited the Cabinet Discounters Springfield showroom, and it was there where he met with designer Katie Kieler.
“I took the sketch to the Springfield store intending to drop it off with someone, but Katie Kieler happened to be free at the time and offered to listen to my plan. She explained to me about Cabinet Discounters products and process. I liked the product, and I was comfortable with the processes she described.” – Mr. Wyrick
“I did get a quote from a competitor. The Cabinet Discounters quote generally beat the competitor on labor cost. The competitor used allowances in their quote where Cabinet Discounters priced everything out to the detail. Having the details nailed down is a much better way to manage a project versus using allowances. In my experience, allowances tent do disappoint a customer.” – Mr. Wyrick
Mr. Wyrick selected Brighton Cabinetry, which offers creative storage options, with a Maple Peppercorn finish. Contrasting the dark cabinets is a bright Cambria Templeton quartz counter top. The floor tile is Florida Tile Passion Antracite Soul 13″x13″ porcelain tiles and the backsplash, which adds plenty of color to the kitchen, is Jeffrey Court Ashland and Halsted Reclaimed Elongated Hex mosaic tiles. The combination of all of these materials produces a stunning outcome.
“Overall, everyone assigned to the project was great to work with. I appreciate how the work was scheduled and how each team stuck to the schedule. I am very happy with the outcome, but so far I haven’t used the kitchen much. I’m still working on painting the adjacent rooms to bring them in line with the kitchen. After that I’ll do some entertaining.” – Mr. Wyrick
