Being stuck at home right now is forcing everyone to realize the flaws of their kitchen. It may be too small, poorly designed, or it may just be falling apart. A local family was going through similar problems with their kitchen, and was trying to decide between improving the kitchen and moving altogether.
“We have lived in our home for 19 years and are the original owners. We love our house layout but knew it was time to replace our builder grade cabinets that were showing wear. In addition, we wanted a bigger kitchen. We actually considered moving but realized with some imagination, we could achieve our goal of a big modern kitchen. That’s what made us move to the remodeling process.”
Using the advice of their interior decorator, the family decided to work with the Cabinet Discounters showroom in Mt. Airy. They had heard about us throughout the years, and were intrigued by the products and prices we offered.
“Living in Maryland all of our lives, we were familiar with Cabinet Discounters as a family business that’s been serving the community for a long time. However, our interior decorator, Angelina Thrasher, is who ultimately made this decision. She spoke about the quality of products and the value of working directly with the company. We learned that in the industry there is a lot of up-charging when you can’t work direct.”
Once they had visited our showroom, they worked with designer Bill Putiri. Bill was able to sit down and work with their interior decorator directly and combine their visions for the kitchen.
“Bill was outstanding. Our decorator did all of the leg work in terms of taking our vision and wants and sitting down with Bill to come up with 2 options. I personally get overwhelmed when it comes to too many choices. Bill and Angelina were able to streamline the process and give us 2 outstanding options that stayed within our budget.”
In addition to working with Bill, the family used contractor Rick Crown and also got their countertops from Creative In Counters. They were very happy with both aspects.
“We used Rick Crown as our contractor and his attention to detail during the installation process was on point. We did use your team to install the Quartz Countertops and the work was done with precision ensuring minimal seams.”
Working along with Bill, the customers selected Homecrest Cabinetry for their kitchen with Brenner Maple doors. The perimeter cabinets are Alpine Opaque color, and the island cabinetry is Willow Opaque. The countertops are LG Viatera Soprano quartz.
“Our new layout has enabled us to utilize our outdoor space in a more functional way. The kitchen and screened porch are now one big area for entertaining and give us a dynamic entertaining option. In terms of the kitchen space, we have plenty of seating for everyone and an open feel to our family room. Our son has a place to do his homework. The entire area feels open and relaxed. My goal to have a warm, comfortable Coastal vibe was achieved! [We are] ecstatic! Can’t wait to do the next project.”
