The modern kitchen has become the center of the home for many families, serving as the hub for creating meals AND memories.
The Fiore family of Mount Airy came to Cabinet Discounters looking to create this kind of space with a kitchen remodel. Opening up their old kitchen, the newly designed room has become a gathering place where family and guests can relax and spend time with whoever is doing the cooking! A beautiful new range, gleaming granite counters and a unique and open layout all work harmoniously together as a result of 2 years of planning with Dave Humerick.
When the project began, Dave was working in the Cabinet Discounters Mount Airy showroom and by the end he had become the manager of the Cabinet Discounters Olney showroom. In between, he and Craig Zimmerman worked with the Fiore family to help them design the kitchen they dreamed of.
At the time Dave was in the Mt Airy office. I went to meet him and I think from that initial meeting to the actual start of the project was 2 years. I still can’t believe that our kitchen looks so amazing and is finally finished. Craig Zimmerman was instrumental in our project being successful. Extremely talented, great work ethic and high integrity. Gave us pointers on details that we never thought about (placement of range hood, overhang of countertop), people like that are priceless! And we truly appreciated him. Also the tile guy (Jeff, I believe) did an amazing job. We use our new open space for entertaining, we have already had many brunches. I’m able to cook, talk and entertain. Works out exactly how we planned.

I am very satisfied with the final outcome of this project. This was a total transformation from their original kitchen. We used Brighton Cabinetry, the Hillsbrad door style in Maple/Harvest stain. The countertops were granite – Emerald Pearl. We also provided the LED strip lighting under and on top of the wall cabinets…
We used the Moen – Arbor Collection for the faucets. The back splash tile was the Florida Tile – Pietra Art Bliss – Glass and Stone Mosaics in the Iceland color. The floor tile was Florida Tile – Mingle Collection – Cool Summer Mix with a Glass and Stone Mosaics border in the Iceland. The floor is also a heated floor using the Schluter brand Ditra Heat system. In all this was a very nice project and it turned out great.
