If you are living in an older home, you will no doubt know the annoyances of having to cope with out of date and cramped spaces. That’s what happened with the Brown family. They had reached the point with their kitchen where it was just too small to function any longer.
“Our old 110 square foot kitchen was not giving us the space we desired. There was little storage in our old cabinets which were hung low to accommodate the short height of the original owner which decreased our countertop clearance. You could not open the oven door and the dishwasher door at the same time without them hitting each other. We like to entertain and simply did not have the room to prepare, cook, and serve food for our guests. Our porch was underutilized and the space was not being used so we decided to expand the new kitchen into this space.” – Mrs. Brown
Having previously worked with the Cabinet Discounters Mt. Airy showroom and designer Bill Putiri on both their laundry room and their master bathroom, the Browns returned to Bill for their kitchen project.
“We have previously used Cabinet Discounters for two other projects in our home. We have always been pleased with the products and selections they offer, their professionalism and willingness to work with us as long as needed to obtain the design we were looking for. Most cabinet companies don’t want to work with customers who want to just purchase the material and install themselves. Cabinet Discounters took same amount of pride in their design and sale of just the materials to us as they were to install the entire job.” – Mrs. Brown
The Browns were very happy with their experience working with Bill throughout all three of their projects over the past five years.
“My husband and I are completely satisfied with our buying experience with Bill Putiri. He did everything he could to make sure we were not only happy with the cabinets and countertops but that it was exactly what we wanted. Never at any point did we feel pressure to buy. In fact it was quite the opposite. He was very patient with us, especially when I took a few months to decide on a design. Everything about the experience could not have been better. I have never met such a top notch salesperson than Bill. My husband and I found him to be quite the gentleman. He was very helpful, informative, funny and sincere throughout the entire experience. They don’t come any better than Bill! What a great guy!” – Mrs. Brown
Working with Bill on their multiple projects, the Browns chose HomeCrest Cabinetry with Heartland maple doors and a Bison finish along with Giallo Ornamental granite countertops for the master bath. The granite tops are also continued to the shower surround and the seat inside the shower. Next came the laundry room, which features Century Cabinetry with Brookfield White cabinets and an Ocre granite countertop with waterfall edge. And finally came the brand new kitchen, which was expanded into the former porch area to maximize space and functionality. The kitchen uses HomeCrest Cabinetry with Laurel Maple square doors and French Vanilla Opaque finish. The countertops throughout the kitchen are Brown Fantasy granite with Roundover edges.
“We are 110% satisfied with our new kitchen. It turned out nicer than we could have ever imagined. Cooking is fun again now that we have the room to work and entertain. The large peninsula has been used many ways such as a food buffet line, an eat-in kitchen seating space, work space for crafts and folding laundry.” – Mrs. Brown
