A Kitchen and Basement for the Ages

Whether you need Cabinet Discounters to provide your installation, or you have an outside contractor you would prefer to work with, there’s no job that we can’t do! That’s just what happened with the Pisano family of Germantown. While working with their contractor, Tomlinson Builders, they used Cabinet Discounters’ designer Hans Englehart from our Gaithersburg showroom to help with their cabinets and countertops.DSC_2433-edit

On the fence between whether or not to go through the hassle of moving and buying a new, larger home, or simply remodeling their existing home, the Pisano’s chose the latter.

DSC_2464-edit“We decided to remodel after an exhaustive search for a new home in our area. We simply couldn’t find a lot of land that we liked as much as what we already owned. We knew we wanted a large kitchen with an open floor plan and a “man cave.” We wanted to be able to host over a hundred people in a casual manner.” – The Pisano family

They got exactly that. After knocking out the back wall of the house and extending the home into their backyard, the Pisanos were able to get the kitchen and basement they were looking for.

“I went into the kitchen knowing the layout and style of cabinets I wanted. Hans was awesome to work with and got my vision immediately.” – The Pisano familyDSC_2444-edit

The Pisano’s chose maple Brighton Cabinetry for the kitchen with a Maple White finish and Shaker door style. The cabinet are paired with a Quartz Reflections counter top from Caeserstone. The customized Brighton cabinets were able to provide the Pisano’s with a divided silverware drawer as well as a drawer designed specifically for knife storage. Along with the kitchen, the Pisano’s also gained a mini-island with wine fridge and a relaxing window seat with book storage and power outlet access for a tablet. DSC_2478-editDSC_2470-edit

As we move to the basement, the maple Brighton Cabinetry continues into the “man cave.” This time, the finish is a dark Maple Peppercorn with Shaker doors and a quartz Jet Black counter top, also from Caeserstone. The shelving allows for ample storage and display space for the Pisano’s collection of sports memorabilia and a large area for either entertaining or enjoying the big game. DSC_2497-edit
