About Cabinet Discounters - (History / Philosophy) With 6 locations, Cabinet Discounters is the largest independent Kitchen & Bath dealer in the Washington, DC, metro area. Our philosphy of superior customer service is evidenced by the fact that our largest source of new business comes from referrals of satisfied customers. The business was started in 1980 by John & Elaine Mikk working out of their home in suburban Maryland. Word spread quickly and they were forced to find commercial space. Each year since, more and more happy customers have created growth and expansion. Currently there are six showrooms in Maryland and Virginia. The latest expansion was a large Corian Solid-Surface Countertop fabrication facility in Frederick, MD. The Mikks and their three children continue to own and operate this business.
