Planning Your Kitchen -Part 2

If you’re getting a new kitchen, there are certain planning details that you should follow. You will have to consider the age and style of your home when making plans. The planning details will also include a list of different things you want to add to your kitchen. This list contains optional items that can be built-in when space permits. Besides that, the planning details will need to include a list of dimensions.

When creating your new kitchen, you will need to determine the age of your house. You will also need to record the style of the walls. Mark down the material they are made of. For instance, they can be made from brick, drywall or plaster. Find out what the kitchen floor is crafted from beneath the surface. Most foundations are constructed from wood or concrete. If you have any soffits, make sure to measure them. Soffits are the area that is between the ceiling and the cabinets. For this stage of the planning process, you will also want to measure the size of your kitchen table.

During the optional portion of the process, make a list of items that you want to add to your kitchen. If you would like to have a built-in wine rack, you can put it on the list. You can even think about adding a chef pantry. There are a lot of different possibilities to choose from. Imagine what you would want your dream kitchen to look like and go from there. If space permits, some of these optional items can be installed in your new kitchen.

The final thing to figure out are dimensions of the room. Measure the height and width of the walls. When taking these measurements, make sure to record them in inches. Make notes when there is a break in the wall. For instance, keep track of any windows or doors. You will also need to mark the spot of electrical outlets. Besides that, you will need to mark down the locations for plumbing lines and existing ducts. Creating detailed plans will make the remodeling process easier.
